A large two-alarm fire destroyed Skyline Chile in Fairfield on Wednesday morning.

Tom Wagner, Deputy Fire Chief of Fairfield, said a police officer saw flames through the roof of the Hicks Boulevard restaurant off Ohio 4 and reported it just before 2:30 am.

The roof collapsed when firefighters arrived from Fairfield and Hamilton, forcing them to fight the fire outside the building, he added.

The cause of the fire remains in the study.

An estimate of the damage was not immediately available.

No injuries were reported.

Hicks Boulevard is closed until further notice.
