A British Airways passenger, stuck in a three-day flight from Orlando to London, told The Post on Sunday that he had returned to the UK, but the airline's apology is still in the wind.
A 250-passenger plane from British Airways – mainly British tourists returning from vacation to Florida – landed near London on Sunday after flying for the first time to Orlando on Thursday.
Their 2036 flight to Gatwick Airport was due to leave Orlando on Thursday night, but mechanical problems immobilized the Florida plane for a whole day.
The plane took off on Friday night, but was forced to land urgently at JFK airport shortly after takeoff.
"I have slept six hours since Thursday morning," said Sunday at 43-year-old Richie Coborn Post.
"We had a fantastic time [on vacation in Florida], up to all that. British Airways communication is appalling, "he said. "British Airways is shocking. I will never fly with them again.
"No decent excuses," added Corbon, who works as a truck driver in Wales.
A spokesman for British Airways called the problems a "minor technical problem" Saturday and apologized to customers for the delay.
