A Southwest Airlines plane bound for Orlando International Airport had to land urgently Tuesday after being struck by lightning, according to a spokeswoman.
Flight 2515 took off from the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and was struck by lightning shortly after departure, the spokeswoman said. The plane landed safely at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut.
Flightaware.com shows that the plane took off around 17:30. and landed just before 7pm
The 135 passengers and five crew members will be on another flight. They will be delayed by about four hours. Flightaware.com indicates that they will arrive in Orlando around 23:30. on the new plane.
The original aircraft was taken care of for maintenance.
