When Dean Stott embarked on his attempt to break the record of North and South America, the former Special Forces soldier joked that his wife could divorce him if he did not. he did not come back to see their friend Prince Harry marry Meghan Markle.

Mr. Stott, a friend of Harry since their joint training in 2007, launched the Panamerican Highway Challenge in February, after apparently advancing the start date of a month to give himself a chance to make the royal wedding.
