Carol Christine Fair, an anti-Trump professor, no longer teaches courses at Georgetown University as a result of a call to dismiss the liberal-minded liberal educator.
Fair fueled controversy on Twitter when she wished terrible deaths to Republican senators supporting Supreme Court candidate Brett Kavanaugh.
"Watch [this] chorus of white men empowered to justify the arrogant right of the serial rapist, "she wrote." All deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh while taking their last breath. "Bonus: we castrate their corpses and infants pigs? Yes. "
His account was de-verified and temporarily suspended Tuesday for violation of Twitter's rules, but until Friday, the university had taken no action against the controversial professor.
A spokesman for Georgetown told the Fox News Fair that he no longer teaches students, but would go abroad for academic research purposes.
Joel Hellman, dean of the School of Foreign Services (SFS), where Fair is a distinguished associate professor, made a statement Friday afternoon highlighting the importance of an unprejudiced classroom where students can learn.
"To avoid further disruption to his students and to ensure safety for our community, we agreed that Professor Fair would immediately go on research leave," Hellman wrote in a statement to the SFS community. "Professor Fair will accelerate the previously planned international research trips."

While the university had already backed Fair and said its comments had been held privately, Hellman pointed to the legitimate concerns of the Georgetown community.
"We can and we strongly condemn the use of violent images, blasphemies and insensitive labeling of people based on gender, ethnicity or political affiliation in any form of speech, "said Hellman.
Fair wrote on Twitter earlier this week that she has never tolerated violence.

"My tweet, as I explained, was an attempt to make you as uncomfortable as I use the language of abuse that I receive by the hundreds," she said.
A few days earlier, Fair had launched a Twitter tirade against Kavanaugh, calling the nominee a "rapist" and "perjury". She described the GOP as a "foul cult of death" and a "dirty pig".
