A girl who sells bracelets to beat cancer reaches her goal in a week

ANGOLA, Ind. (WANE) – It was an amazing day for a 14-year-old Angolan girl. Olivia Stoy needed help from around the world to raise money to pay for her cancer treatment – $ 350,000. A week after presenting her story to the media, she has the money she needs through a bracelet fundraiser that she started.

Just seven days ago, Olivia had only $ 25,000 raised for her $ 350,000 bone marrow transplant. She needs the procedure next month or she is unlikely to survive her lymphoblastic lymphoma.

At $ 20 a piece, she wondered if people would help her by buying her Lava Liv bracelets. She had designed them with Emily Bryan, the owner of Emily Kai, an accessory company in Fort Wayne.

Bryan gave him a check for $ 110,000 on Sunday, which beat his goal.

With some viral power on the internet, Olivia's bracelet is sold well beyond her small town of Angola. People all over the country have bought thousands.
