A judge took charge after two inmates tried to escape from his Washington courtroom.
In a video obtained by The Daily Chronicle, we can see Judge RW Buzzard of the District Court removing his robe and running after Tanner Jacobson, 22, and Kodey Howard, 28, after trying to flee his court in Chehalis, about 85 kilometers south-west of Seattle.
The two men can be seen in the October 16 video, still handcuffed, trying to escape into a stairwell, with Jacobson in the lead.

"At first I was shocked, I did not know what to think," Buzzard told KOMO, an affiliate of ABC. "When they knocked on the door, I thought," There is no one between them and the street. "So, I wanted to at least know where they were going.
The two inmates took four stairs before Buzzard could catch Howard. Jacobson only made a few blocks before being overtaken by the authorities, according to KOMO.
"Once in the staircase, I knew that I was going to be able to catch the one right in front of me because I was immediately starting to win it," Buzzard said. "I yelled at them all the way down the stairs to" stop, make things worse. " "

Lewis County Sheriff's Deputy Chief Dusty Breen said Buzzard "really helped us get [Howard] in custody."
This is not the first time Buzzard finds himself in the middle of an incident. In April, it was a civil case, he said.
"I had the unfortunate circumstance of having to surrender a ground litigant who had attacked a lawyer," Buzzard said.

He then revealed why he had abandoned his dress in the video. "I discovered [in April] this taking in a dress is very restrictive. I could not imagine going down the stairs and being dressed in a dress, so I removed it as soon as I could and I pursued it. "
Jacobson and Howard were charged with second degree escape.
Buzzard added that they were working to make the courtrooms safer, but said finding the budget for more staff is a challenge.
