An 11-month-old baby arrived from Doha by Qatar Airways died Wednesday morning at Hyderabad Airport, the airline said. However, authorities at Hyderabad airport denied that the baby died at the airport.

The baby was traveling with his parents from Doha to Hyderabad when he had respiratory problems.

Shortly after arriving in Hyderabad, the child, Arnav Varma, was transported to Apollo Airport, the airline said. The baby was declared dead.

A spokeswoman for Hyderabad Airport denied that the baby had died at the airport.

"We are waiting for the investigations to conclude and for the official reports of the Qatar Airways and Apollo hospitals on the death of the baby," said Sangeetha C R.

The baby had an American passport. His father, Anil Varma, holds an Indian passport. They were traveling on the Qatar Airways SR-500 flight.

The airline, in a statement, said: "We are aware of the very sad news that a young child has died at Hyderabad International Airport this morning."

"Our sincere condolences and thoughts go out to the affected family," he adds.
