A man "armed with Taser" arrested at Buckingham Palace

A man was arrested at Buckingham Palace after allegedly attempting to visit the royal residence with a Taser.

Police said a 38-year-old man had been detained in the tourist center of London, "suspected of owning a gun".

Security personnel at the palace first apprehended the man at the entrance of visitors shortly after 12:45 Sunday.

Scotland Yard said he was arrested at a police station in central London.

A police statement from Met said: "The police were called to Sunday, September 23 at 12:47, to denounce a man detained by security personnel at the entrance of visitors to Buckingham Palace.

"The police were present and at 1 pm, a 38-year-old man was arrested because he was suspected of possessing a firearm, namely a Taser.

"He remains in detention at a police station in central London at this stage."
