Updated at 9:15 pm: Revised to include an arrest.

A man was arrested Sunday night in the death of a 16-year-old girl who had been shot in the head during an evening at Far North Dallas, where several people were playing with a handgun, the police said.

Witnesses reported that one of the people had pointed his gun at Jakiyah Wrightsil before she was shot, heading. Said DeMarquis Black.

Jakiyah was found dead on a floor of the Viridian Place apartments, located in block 4800 of Haverwood Lane, near Dallas North Tollway and Bush Turnpike.

It appears that a large group ends when the police intervene around 4:30 am and that several minors and young adults are stopped in the parking lot.

Several witnesses were taken to the Dallas Police Headquarters for questioning, but no one was arrested until around 6:30 pm when police arrested 19-year-old William Hester in the 700 block of Clay Mathis Road in Mesquite.

Hester confessed to a detective that he was holding the weapon when she was discharged. He was held at Dallas County Jail and faces a charge of manslaughter.
