WAYNE CO. N.C. – A man from Chapel Hill was arrested in Wayne County for exceeding the speed limit by more than 100 miles at the time, reports WTVD.
The Goldsboro Police Service learned that motorists were doing street racing on November 18 at approximately 12:30 pm on Highway 70.
When the officers arrived, a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS departed.
Officers followed the driver a short distance, but stopped the pursuit because of the danger to the public.
Nevertheless, officers monitored the driver who was driving at high speed and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office assistants used a tipped tape to stop him.
When the Camaro stopped, officers arrested Mark Allen Crabtree and quoted him for reaching a speed of 157 km / h in an area of 55 km / h, according to WTVD.
