MALIBU, California (KABC) –
Authorities served a search warrant on Cher's home in Malibu on Thursday and a man was arrested for drug trafficking, Eyewitness News reported.
The Sheriff County Sheriff's deputies have served a warrant at home as part of a two-week narcotics investigation. They arrested a person identified as Donovan Ruiz, 23 years old. His relationship with Cher was not immediately known, but it was thought he lived at the residence.
Officials say Ruiz was wanted in connection with fentanyl sales in Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
They say that he sold to several users in Ventura County, and that one of them, a resident of Thousand Oaks, died after consuming the drug.
Officials say Ruiz faces a drug crime and could face additional charges related to overdose deaths.
He was held on bail of $ 500,000 and is scheduled to be sued Monday in the Ventura County Superior Court.
Cher is currently touring Australia.
