A missing woman from Calvert County was found dead on Thursday from an alleged homicide in Baltimore, near the Anne Arundel County border, police said Sunday.

The woman was identified as Danielle Valerie Gunson, 18, from Block 7000 Swan Lane in Owings. Her family could not be contacted for comment.

Officers Anne County Arundel and Baltimore were called Thursday around 9:21 pm and found the body of the teenager in block 100 Riverside Road in the Brooklyn neighborhood, police said. Gunson had "suffered a trauma to the torso and was the victim of a homicide," said Anne Arundel County police.

Gunson was allegedly missing by the Anne Arundel County Police at approximately 8:39 pm Thursday, the police said. The next day, homicide investigators in Baltimore positively identified her as the victim found in Brooklyn. The homicide unit in Baltimore is conducting the investigation, but the two police departments are working together to resolve the case, officials said.

Police believe that Gunson may have been in Anne Arundel County at the time of her disappearance. They gave no presumed motive for his murder or suspicious description in the case.
