One mother says she has permanent scars and that she appears to have been attacked by "flesh eating insects" after removing a tattoo.
Stephanie Lynn, 28, had a skull and roses inked on her left arm seven years ago, but she wanted to remove the "embarrassing" art before knotting the knot next year.
A NEW BRIDE SUFFERS THE COURT OF A HONEYMOON IN NYC: REPORT
Mom-of-Two has made an appointment with the Fresh Faced cosmetics company in Glasgow to remove the tattoo.
But after only two visits to the Royston Dental Clinic in Glasgow, Lynn claims that her arm was "fried" and that he was severely infected.
Lynn, of Parkhead, Glasgow, said her hand had swelled to four times her normal size, that she could not straighten her arm and that she was left with painful blisters filled with pus.
Lynn went to the doctor to get help for the unbearable pain and was prescribed antibiotics for the infection.
She then called NHS24 where she was directed to a nearby medical center where the doctors confirmed the infection.
Now, Lynn says she could be forced to postpone her marriage because permanent scars have ruined her confidence in her.
"When I had the tattoo, I was young and stupid," said Lynn, who underwent a laser removal operation in July and September. "I went to have it removed and I had a patch test that went well." I put some numbing cream a few hours before and when I had my first Laser, I did not really notice much, but the second time, I went in. It was horrible, I knew something was wrong.
"The girl who was doing it hurt me so much," she said. "I had the impression that she was burning my arm, feeling completely different from the first time.It was unbearable, my arm was on fire. The girl put a soothing gel on the top, but after two days, my arm was swollen., it was like four times its size. "I could not straighten my arm," Lynn said. "I know it's normal to have swelling, but not like that, it was worse, it's as if an electric shock had crossed my arm." Flesh-eating insects had attacked it – it was horrible. "
Lynn says that when she reported the infection to Fresh Faced, she was told to go to the pharmacy.
There, he was given Epaderm cream to keep his skin hydrated and Dermol wash. She followed all the correct instructions after the treatment.
Lynn says that she sent an email to Fresh Face and asked for the mover certificates and the details of their insurance.
But Hollie's mother, Chloe, aged 8 and 3, says she has not heard from the company for three weeks.
And now, she's afraid of having to postpone her marriage.
"It completely ruined my confidence, I always wear long sleeve tops now," she said. "It has been so horrible – even driving my kids to school has been so difficult – something as simple as shifting gears in your car.I just do not want anyone to on the other hand experience what I have experienced. My youngest girl does not have I do not want to come near me because of scars. He was terrified. "
Fresh Faced was contacted for a comment but a spokesperson said she could not comment on this problem.
