A neo-Jamaican couple on their way to marriage is killed in a fiery chain reaction accident in Pa.

A New Jersey couple about to be married in Pittsburgh was killed in a fierce convoy crash last week on Interstate 78 in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Kathryn M. Schurtz, 35, and Joseph D. Kearney, both of Jersey City, died in the collision Wednesday afternoon in Windsor Township.

Their car was hit from behind by a semitrailer and pushed into another trailer, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. Three other semi-trailers were also involved.

Kearney is from Pittsburgh, according to his Facebook profile.

Schurtz graduated from Union Catholic High School in 2001 and grew up in Fanwood. She graduated from George Washington University according to an obituary published on Sunday.

Schurtz then obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. She worked as a platform partner for Oracle Data Cloud in New York.

Schurtz leaves behind her parents, Joseph and Karen, as well as a sister, a brother-in-law and a nephew. Visits will be held Monday at 4pm to 8pm at the Roman Catholic Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scotch Plains. Monday and Tuesday from 10h to 11h.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kathryn M. Schurtz Scholarship Fund at Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains.
