At the panel, Ratcliffe and the artists discussed their inspirations and worked with the book. Ratcliffe, Eckstein and several of the artists present explained how the character of Ahsoka Tano inspired them: "She saves everyone with grace and finesse," said illustrator Sarah Wilkinson.

The panel's illustrators all agreed that, while working on the book, they had learned about the existence of "Star Wars" female characters that they did not know.
