A New York State policeman was killed during an internal conflict, according to a senior official

A New York State cop was shot down following a domestic disturbance call on Monday and the alleged gunman was also dead, an Associated Press official said.

The suspect was not identified immediately and details about the family conflict were not disclosed. It was also not known how the suspect was dead.

The shootings occurred near the SUNY Corning Community College, which provoked a massive police reaction. The college said in a post on Facebook that there was no threat to the campus.

"All offices are open.The State Police investigates the incident and uses one of the College's car parks as a command center.All questions should be directed to the police State, "said the college.
