Matthew Dippel asks the help of people on the Internet to find the couple in this photo taken on October 6 at Yosemite National Park.

SALT LAKE CITY – Do you know anyone who got engaged to Yosemite National Park on October 6th? A Michigan photographer might have their engagement photo.

Matthew Dippel is looking for the couple whose proposal he seized while he was stationed near Taft Point, while waiting to take a picture of his friend.

"Everything was ready for my camera, so I had to move it away," he said, according to the BBC. "But the couple left before him, so I was just in the right place at the right time."

The self-taught photographer saw no other person around him capture the moment, so he took the picture, took another picture of his friend who was with him and ran back with the hope of showing the mystery couple.

But, as reported by Fox-5 San Diego, Dippel's efforts were unsuccessful.

"I took the picture to try to find out who they were and I asked 20 or 25 people and no one showed up," he said.

But rather than give up, Dippel decided to use social media to find the couple. His post of October 17 has become viral since.

But even with more than 328,000 tastes and 154,000 retweets, Dippel had not found the couple yet on October 21st.

"I still have hope because it continues to attract attention and hopefully it will find them," he said, according to the BBC. "Honestly, I'm surprised it's not already done!"
