On her first night of her week-long stay in Brooklyn, Jimmy Kimmel had a question for her New York audience. "Is Donald Trump the president here too?" Asked he. "Well, to LA, he is, and it's not going very well."
The late-night moderator emphasized the "sometimes controversial" 60 minutes the night before, including the time when Trump was so frustrated by Leslie Stahl that he told her, "I am the president and you are not."
"So charming," said Kimmel. "I have the impression that he often puts an end to such conversations."
But Kimmel was much more excited to talk about another revelation of 60 minutes episode. During another part of the interview, the CBS cameras captured a strange picture of Trump surrounded by former Republican Presidents, Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan to both Bush.
"This masterpiece is hanging at the White House," marveled the animator, pointing out that only three live characters in the painting were present and that "two of them hate Donald Trump, the other is Donald Trump ".
Andy Thomas, the artist behind "The Republican Club," told the Daily Beast that Trump had personally called him to tell him how much he liked the play. "He was very appreciative," said Thomas. "He said that he had seen a lot of paintings of himself and that he rarely liked them."
"It's a beautifully crafted piece of narcissism," added Kimmel. "It's hard to know which element of madness to focus on: the fact that Richard Nixon and Abraham Lincoln in this scenario are friends or the fact that Donald Trump weighs less than 200 pounds in this painting. But let's just say it's not very realistic.
With that, he showed the public a much more "realistic" painting: Donald Trump playing poker with a dog table.
