A plane makes an emergency landing after hitting a bird

BOSTON (AP) – A flight by American Airlines struck a bird and was forced to land in Boston.

The Boston Globe announced that the Boeing 737 aircraft had struck the bird at 7:40 am Saturday morning shortly after taking off from Logan International Airport in Boston.

The Federal Aviation Administration told The Globe that the plane was heading to Miami and had landed without incident.

The plane is being evaluated and FAA officials are investigating. The 172 passengers of the flight are the subject of a new reservation on various flights.
