CHICAGO, IL – A police officer was shot dead Thursday night on Cicero Avenue near the Interstate 55 exit on Chicago's South Side. The filming location is located near Midway International Airport and just off the Cicero exit of Stevenson Expressway. Several police departments reacted to the scene just after 5 pm and closed the area to traffic.
According to a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department, it was a policeman from the western suburbs of Cicero, who was shot dead. An ABC-7 television report said it was a woman who was shot and pulled from the scene on a stretcher.

Cicero Avenue remains closed in both directions near Stevenson. Motorists who need to get to Midway Airport, a few blocks south of the filming location, should avoid using Cicero to get there.
A report on Twitter by Eric Tendian indicates that the policeman was hit once in the arm and once in the leg.
