The Chicago police now suspect a criminal act in the case of a missing postal worker from the United States.

Kierra Coles, a 27-year-old US postal worker, was last seen on Tuesday, October 2.

Her disappearance for two weeks and "the fact that she fell off the grid" have pushed the authorities to consider the offense, said the Chicago Police Department in a statement Wednesday.

Coles was last seen on video surveillance in her neighborhood on October 2nd. She was dressed for work and was walking near her car while she had been screaming sick, reported the ABC WLS station in Chicago.

Coles' mother, Karen Phillips, She told WLS that she had spoken to her daughter on October 2nd. Coles said how happy and excited she was to hear her baby's heart beat, Phillips said. Cole is about three months pregnant and has a boyfriend.

"She would not stay that long without talking to me, we talk every day," Phillips told WLS. "She would not have worried me like that."

"I'm totally unaware, I do not know where my sister might be," said Coles' sister, Keisha Phillips, 30, at WLS.

Keisha Phillips said that she had spent many sleepless nights at the disappearance of her sister.

"We do not know if she's hot, if she's hungry," she says.

While waiting for answers, family members distribute leaflets in the South Side neighborhood.

"Maybe someone knows something," Keisha Phillips said. "We just want her at home, we love her, she misses us, all we can continue to do for the moment, is to pray, to watch. we will not give up until we have gotten answers. "

The US Postal Inspection Service offered a $ 25,000 reward for information to locate the employee.

Police said Wednesday that investigators "continue to obtain information and monitor them diligently".

Coles is described as having black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds.
