It's not like the producers of The simpsons are obsessed with continuity – in fact, they play rather quickly and loose with the timeline of the series.
But when executive producer Matt Selman spotted a big mistake of continuity on Wednesday, he thought it was worth sharing it on Twitter.
"Maggie is pictured on the wall behind Marge telling Homer that she's pregnant with Maggie," Selman wrote next to a screenshot of episode 13 of the sixth season of The simpsons.
Companion Simpsons writer Al Jean did not delay responding to Selman's observation.
Simpsons the fans rang and discussed who they thought was to blame.
Jean joked that the continuity blunder had led to massive layoffs in the show.
I hope you are happy because we just fired SEVENTEEN people for this mistake. Fired. By. Completed.

Other fans have proposed theories about what could be the reason for Maggie's mysterious photo.
No no! It's obviously Lisa! Maggie wears only stockings!

It's a secret baby that they have hidden as they did with Hugo (the evil Barts twin)! He must return; This is my favorite episode. pic.twitter.com/jcdqWZ1nXk

Other fans have commented that the same thing had actually happened before the show.
I've noticed that too. Plus, you can see a picture of Lisa in the staircase when Homer runs up after Marge says she's pregnant with her lol

And of course, a fan had the perfect Simpsons reference for the moment.
But honestly, in 30 seasons, there are bound to be some setbacks.
