A racist encounter in Portland, Oregon, left people on outraged social media.

Facebook user Selina Cairel, who is from Asia-America, shared a video she took with a driver who had launched several racist insults earlier this week. Cariel alleges that the woman spoke to her with a fake Asian accent saying "She is Asian, she can not see – that's why she can not drive" before embarking on the tirade recorded by Cariel.

"Before you say anything, you might want to make sure you're legal," it says in the clip posted on Facebook on Wednesday. "And then call the cops and let them know."

"About what?" Answer Cairel.

"That you're illegal crossing the border and that your parents probably had to work for dirt just to get here," the woman replies.

The video has since accumulated more than 1.3 million views on Facebook with thousands of actions. According to the local KOIN 6 outlet, social media users have identified the driver, however, the outlet has not released his name. The driver's mother reached out to the station and said her daughter was "sorry" and "made a mistake".

Cairel said in a Facebook post that she had just left the famous Voodoo Donut shop and was parked next to the other driver, which she said caused the dispute. The woman first took out her phone saying "it should go on Instagram" before Cairel returns the favor.

Cairel said she did not want to let the incident go and shared the video to expose the woman's "ignorant behavior" and help others understand that "people of color meet her all the time".

The Facebook user seems to have kept a sense of humor after the trial and published a photo of his passport soon after with the caption: "I promise I'm legal guys".
