The woman was reported missing on Friday, officials said
A crocodile has taken an Aboriginal forest ranger to a remote area of Australia, safety officials said in the workplace.
The woman was reported missing on Friday in Arnhem Land, a vast wilderness area of the Northern Territory.
The police go to the scene, but the condition of the woman is not known.
Northern Territory WorkSafe said the attack had occurred near the community of Gan Gan, at least 500 km east of Darwin.
"NT WorkSafe opened an investigation into this incident," he said in a statement.
The woman is suspected of being part of the Yirralka Rangers program, reported the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
The program employs about 50 people to deal with much of the traditional land belonging to the Yolngu people, Yirralka Rangers says on his website.
Crocodile attacks killed 14 people in the Northern Territory between 2005 and 2014, according to a study released last year.
