Ex-American football player Rutgers, accused of double murder plot, tried to recruit a friend as a flight driver – but the friend recorded the conversation and called the cops, did one revealed on Wednesday.

Izaia Bullock's recording about the assassination plot was obtained by the police, who then searched his car and discovered pills, gloves, a mask and crushed pills, according to a report. affidavit obtained by MyCentralJersey.com.

The 22-year-old junior linebacker was charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly planning to kill two family members of a friend.

He was fired from the Scarlet Knights football team on the day of his arrest.

Bullock revealed the murderous ploy to the Rutgers police, according to the affidavit.

The New Jersey native had been upset by a recent breakup and had apparently threatened his ex-girlfriend's family, some of his teammates told NJ.com.

The targeted victims were not affiliated with the university and suffered no harm, officials said.
