A second student from Warwick High School died of an injury in a fatal accident involving several vehicles Friday afternoon in Lititz, the school district announced Sunday.

The school district identified this student as Meghan Keeney. The other student who died in the accident was Jack Nicholson, 16 years old.

The investigation continues on the accident, according to the police. It was caused by a 63-year-old woman who was reportedly driven around 15:15. in the 200 block of West Orange Street, near the high school.

In addition to the two deceased students, three others, including one other, were injured.

The five men were transported to a neighborhood hospital. Both students died in the hospital. Several others were treated at the scene of the accident.

The administrators of the Warwick School District issued this statement:

Eight vehicles were involved in the accident, including a black Hyundai driven by a 63-year-old Lancaster County woman.

Police said that the woman's car had hit vehicles while she was heading east on Orange Street. After hitting a black Chevrolet – the vehicle in which the students were – the Hyundai took off and overturned on the roof.

A few minutes earlier, the police had started receiving 911 dispatches reporting a reckless driver about three kilometers to the west on Highway 772, which became Orange Street in Lititz.

A police officer from Lancaster County, in the north of the country, saw the vehicle roll slowly and activated its lighthouses and sirens in an attempt to stop the Hyundai. Instead, the Hyundai accelerated and the agent, at the behest of his patrol supervisor, immediately stopped trying to stop the vehicle.

The Hyundai struck a school bus on Highway 772 in Warwick Township before traveling to Lititz. The school bus contained students and a driver; no one was injured.

The police continue to investigate why the woman was driving recklessly and did not stop for the police.
