A shootout in front of Papa John's Florida restaurant kills 2 and wounds 2, police say

Two men were killed and two others wounded after gun shots were fired at a pizzeria in Florida on Saturday night, officials said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office announced in a press release that the shooting had occurred in front of a John Papa, in southwest Orlando, around 8:05 pm.

A man was found dead by a car behind the restaurant and was shot dead "several times," police said.

Another man injured during the shooting incident went to Papa John's to ask for help before being rushed to the hospital where he died, reported WKMG .

Two other men were found by members injured by gunshots and were "seriously injured". They were taken to a nearby hospital and no further information about their condition was known.

The deputy ministers had received a description of a vehicle that had run away from the restaurant after the shooting. The vehicle, a silver Hyundai Elantra, was spotted by MPs shortly after and a lawsuit began.

After briefly escaping from the police, authorities learned that the car was involved in an accident. The sheriff's office said MPs were finally able to stop the vehicle and put the driver in custody on charges of absconding.

Officials told WKMG that the driver could be connected to the shooting. The Orange County Sheriff's Office was to unveil additional details on Sunday morning.
