A skateboard killed in a hit-and-run at Northline

A skater died after being hit by a car near Northline on Friday morning, police said.

The fatal accident occurred around 1:30 am as the man was skating on the sidewalk of the North Freeway service road near Werner.

A dark colored car failed to stay in his lane and jumped on the sidewalk, hitting the man, said the sergeant. Regina Gonzales of the Houston Police Service. The driver continued to head north on the service road and did not stop to help, she said.

The man on the skateboard may have been a Walmart employee, according to the sergeant.
