INDIANAPOLISA small plane had to land urgently near the parking lot of a Dick & # 39; s Sporting Goods store, northwest of Indy.
Investigators said that a malfunction of the equipment had forced the pilot to land at the parking spot located on West 86th Street, just east of Interstate 465 around 2:45 pm . Sunday.
The pilot was identified as Greg Mahler.
Mahler told our news gathering partners, WISH TV, that he was only in the air for ten minutes when the engine broke down. Mahler said the engine is brand new.
Neither Mahler nor anyone else was hurt.
