When Pieter Hanson learned about the existence of the viral tweet that his mother had sent about him, he was furious.

"I'm so angry that mom would do that to me," recalls Pieter's older brother Jon Hanson, 35, of Orlando, Florida.

On Monday night, a several-day tweet from Jon's and Pieter's mother, who they're not identifying, started following trends. According to the tweet, Pieter, 32, no longer participates in "solitary appointments", lest false allegations of sexual misconduct be made against him.

The tweet, published Oct. 6, contained a picture of Pieter in a US Navy uniform, smiling in front of the camera, his fist under his chin.

"It's MY son, he got the first prize in training camp, he was awarded the USO prize, he was the first in a school, he is a gentleman who respects women, he does not want to go solo because of the current climate – false accusations of radical feminists with ax [sic] grind. I VOTE. #Him too"

The tweet seemed to refer to the political climate that had plunged Judge Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings after being accused of sexual misconduct, allegations that he had denied.

Although Pieter was initially angry with his mother for publishing something illegal about him, he said he had no feelings of resentment.

"I forgive my mother, she and I caught up a few hours ago, she did not intend to do so and was mortified to have disavowed her. silly! It's his mother! "said Pieter in a statement to NBC News.

Jon said that the feeling in his mother's tweet was "the antithesis" of his brother's vision, but that did not stop him from laughing at the new fame of the Internet.

"The fact that it happened to my younger brother made it one of the funniest nights of my life that I will ever forget," said Jon, adding that he was happy that his mother turns to Pieter in his place.
