Kings County, California (KMPH) – A mysterious space debris that fell from the sky in Southern California seems to be part of a communications satellite.

But people still do not really know what to think about it.

A bright flash of light illuminated the area's skies last week, about the same time a metal object was falling on a farm in Kings County.

The discovery was made Saturday at a ranch south of Hanford, California, about half an hour south of Fresno.

On the same day, Naval Air Base Lemoore ruled out any connection.

And although Space-X recently launched a Falcon-9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base, it was not a fragment.

One of the company's vice presidents said he was "pretty sure" that it did not come from them.

"The tanks are too short, the liner looks like a different material, and it also seems like it has been orbital reentry," he said.

But, it could be the same object that made light last Thursday. A video of this event seems to show a satellite making its return.

A satellite was spotted making its comeback that day, and it arrived a mile or two from where the metal object was found.

Iridium satellite communications company identified the object as a fuel tank.

They said it belonged to a satellite in low Earth orbit launched in the late 90s and reintegrated into the atmosphere of the Earth.
