FREMONT, Ohio – A high school student's writing about how to overcome obstacles in his life led a man to plead guilty to raping her and two sisters a few years ago , said the authorities.

The Sandusky County detectives began investigating after Vanguard Technology Center school officials alerted the children's services and the sheriff's office about the trial.

"She had revealed that she had been sexually abused as a child," Sheriff Det said. Sgt. Kenneth Arp.

Anthony Knight, 43, was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison by a county judge after pleading guilty to rape. A message asking for comment was left to Knight's lawyer.

The three sisters said they were reluctant to come forward initially because they had not reported it in the past, but they all mentioned the fact that they had been raped and reported different forms of abuse, said Arp. The youngest was 7 years old when she was sexually assaulted for the first time, he said.

The statements of brothers and sisters to the detectives corroborated by the information authorities were collected in other interviews, he added.

"It happened years ago," said Arp, adding that the three sisters had shown a lot of courage.

Authorities have credited the school for promptly alerting him about the allegations contained in the test. The school principal refused to comment because he wanted to protect the student.
