A survivor of the last few months of mass shooting at a Madden NFL tournament in Jacksonville, Florida, reportedly died Sunday in a car accident.

Ryen Aleman, 25, lost control of his car just before 4 am Sunday in Corpus Christi, Texas, reported KIII-TV, citing the state's Department of Public Security.

Aleman's vehicle reportedly fired several times and struck railway lines. He was not wearing a seatbelt and died after being ejected from the car, according to the news station.

Aleman, of Robstown, Texas, was at Jacksonville Landing on Aug. 26 when an armed gunman opened fire on other players attending the Madden tournament. The gunman killed two people before turning the gun on him.

Aleman told NPR that he was playing the game when he heard gunshots burst behind him.

Thinking that something was wrong, he told his opponent that they had to "crawl down, let's crawl to the toilet."

Aleman said the two were standing on a toilet in the bathroom to hide.

"I can not tell you if we're going to stay alive or not, because he's opening this stand, he's going to shoot us," Aleman told the player hiding with him. "If he does, it could be our last day."

After filming, Aleman wrote on Facebook that "these last days have been the worst feeling of my life".

In a later post, he wrote next to a photo of him playing Madden: "Just enjoying what I love to do god has given me a second life and I enjoy every minute, nobody do not know what you like. "
