Jarrod Warren Ramos, the suspect of what the police called a "targeted attack" on the newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland, was charged with five counts of first degree murder, according to the records of the courtyard.
Ramos, 38 On Thursday, the shooter entered the building where the Capital Gazette is housed, armed with a shotgun and smoke grenades and opened fire, police said. The suspect was found hiding under an office in the building, said Steven Schuh, director of Anne Arundel County, at CNN. He was taken into custody and questioned Thursday night by criminal investigators, said Anne Arundel County Police Deputy Chief Bill Krampf.
The five who were killed are: Robert Hiaasen, 59, associate editor; Gerald Fischman, 61, publisher of the editorial page; John McNamara, 56, editor; Rebecca Smith, 34, Sales Assistant and Wendi Winters, 65, who worked in special publications.
Three others were taken to hospitals after the attack.
