A man in Arlington, Texas, lost both ears after being attacked by two dogs this week, authorities said. The dogs were probably pit bulls.
The 58-year-old man lost both his ears as a result of the attack.

The man, identified as Milton Sturges, 58, was walking Wednesday when the dogs attacked. A neighbor who heard the screaming man called the police, who, on his arrival, would have seen the man be mutilated, reported local news channel CBS 11.

An officer hit the dogs – presumably adult pit bulls, a man and a woman – with a weapon. Eventually, they managed to remove the dogs from the man.
Sturges was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
"He lost both his ears. His nose was partially torn and his lower lip was partially torn off, "Milton's nephew, Omar Sturges, told television.
Milton Sturges will now require reconstructive surgery, according to a GoFundMe created to help with medical expenses.
Officials from the Arlington Police Department are currently investigating the incident and looking for dog owners. The authorities told CBS 11 that the male pit bull, which weighed about 80 kg, was gray with "cut ears" and "appeared to have chain marks (scars) around it" [his] neck as if he had been chained.
The female, who was dark and had her ears cut, weighed about 25 kg and "seemed to have already had a liter of puppies," the authorities said, according to the television channel.
The dogs are reported to have died after being taken away by local animal control officers.
