Just a few dozen days after being equipped with a pacemaker, a sports television presenter suffered a live heart attack.

Sukru Oytan can be seen in a video clip suddenly collapsing on the desk in front of him, before sliding off his chair and falling to the floor of the studio.

The surprising scenes were recorded on a local television channel in the Turkish province of Eskisehir.

At the time of analyzing the game Sports Toto 1st League Eskisehirspor-Umraniyespor, Oytan abruptly interrupted, reports Tech2.

After a short silence, he can be seen bending his head against the table, while his co-presenter, Guven Sabaz, seems confused as to what to do.

He can be seen panting as he leans over and Sabaz begins to walk towards his colleague, but Oytan falls from his chair and falls to the ground in a heap.

Turkish media said that Oytan had suffered a heart attack on the air and had been transported to the hospital where he would be in a stable state.

In a statement, the local TV channel said that 10 days before the incident, the presenter had undergone a procedure to have a pacemaker installed after being diagnosed with arrhythmia – slow or irregular heartbeats.

The device is connected to the heart muscles by one or two leads and can save life, as it can relieve some symptoms of arrhythmia such as fatigue and fainting.

If your heart rate is too slow, it sends an electrical signal to the heart muscle to trigger a heartbeat.
