As President Trump settles in the country, going from rally to rally to strengthen the Republican candidates' vote, his rhetoric has become increasingly bleak.
We have already documented that at least 70% of his factual statements at his gatherings were false or misleading. Many of these claims – the biggest tax cuts ever made, the construction of the border wall – continue to be the fiercest of his rallies. He often continues to present himself as a super-action hero, upsetting regulations, creating jobs, even going as far as saving money on building an embassy.
But in the run-up to elections – and Halloween – he is plunged into an infiltration of witch attacks against Democrats who do too much, even by his standards. The language changes from one gathering to another, but the themes are the same. One can almost imagine thinking, "I'm going to introduce here a little Venezuelan socialism, a bit of MS-13," as he mixes his invective beverage.
We are busy preparing our database on Trump's claims for an update at the end of the month, but his rhetoric about the opposition party is simply amazing. So we thought it would be helpful to provide a guide on some of the most outrageously false claims that the President made during this month's election campaign, usually without proof.
Democrats like the undocumented
"They [Democrats] want to give them cars, they want to give them driving licenses. I said last night we did an excellent – we had a very good rally in Arizona last night and I said – I said last night, what kind of car will they provide? Will it be a Rolls-Royce? "

There are 12 states – including Nevada, where Trump spoke and who has a Republican governor – that allow undocumented immigrants to receive a driver's license. (Another state of its kind is Utah, which is firmly Republican, the others, including California and Maryland, tend to be democratic.)
But pretending that Democrats want to offer cars to illegal immigrants, let alone luxury cars, is just a fantasy. The day before, in Mesa, Arizona, Trump had speculated that Democrats might want to give cars to illegal immigrants. A day later, he claimed it as an accepted fact.

Trump apparently ignores the fact that it is illegal for undocumented immigrants to vote in federal elections. "
The law provides an exception for non-federal elections and some municipalities (such as San Francisco and College Park, Maryland) allow non-citizens to vote for school boards or other local elective offices. But no leader of the Democratic Party has called for the overthrow of federal law to allow non-citizens to vote in federal elections, often at the center of Trump rallies.

Trump sounded alarms about a group of thousands of refugees and migrants from Central America heading to Mexico, blearily warning that "unknowns from the Middle East" were among them (no evidence) and that Democrats (like billionaire George Soros) were funding the effort. Vice President Pence, interviewed at the Washington Post, quoted the Honduran president as saying that Venezuela was funding migrants. Nothing proves that this is the case either. The Daily Beast reported that the caravan had started because a pro-government news channel had falsely reported that a former politician would pay for food and transportation. Trump later acknowledged that he had "no evidence" of the presence of Middle Eastern people among these migrants, but stated that he "could very well be there".
Democrats will hurt you

Presidents will often hit the opposition party – Harry Truman attacked the "Do-Nothing Congress" and called the Republicans "reactionaries" – but Trump pursues the Democrats with a machete.
The president said the Democrats would make the whole country a "sanctuary" for MS-13 gang members (no), that they wanted to abolish borders (no) and did not want any control over illicit drugs and gangs (no). He frequently cites Venezuela, a state increasingly weak after years of dictatorship and economic mismanagement, as an example of what Democrats could do in the United States. He says the Democrats want to cut health care, while they were fighting to preserve the Affordable Care Act, which Trump wanted to repeal. Many Democrats want to raise taxes for the rich – not middle-income Americans – and support the relatively modest gun control proposals (which are unlikely to be successful). These subtleties are lost in the Trump rallies.
Democrats hate America

Most lawmakers are strong supporters of a strong defense, although some Democrats may prefer not to downplay social spending because of higher military spending. There is no official definition of the term "sanctuary" in immigration policy or legislation. In general, it refers to rules that prevent state governments and local authorities from alerting federal authorities to people who may be illegally in the country.
