A woman abandons a 2-year-old boy at the door of a stranger in Texas

SPRING, Texas –

A woman was filmed while approaching the door of a stranger in Texas before giving up a 2 year old boy and escaping.

About 12 hours later, Houston's sister station KTRK helped MPs determine the boy's identity and locate his father.

Deputy Ministers of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office confirm that they have found the child's family with the help of media partners. The boy's father lives next door and confirms that the child in the video is the 2-year-old Simmons Royal Prince.

The situation began when a woman discovered that the toddler had been left at her door in the 30700 block of Legends Ridge Drive, around 8:20 pm Wednesday.

The woman called 911 and said she heard a knock on her door. When she went to meet, she found the boy standing without adults.

The resident showed a video surveillance of the deputy ministers that showed the woman arriving at home in a white car. The suspect could be seen running towards the front door of the house while lifting the child by the arm.

Once the woman arrived at the front door, she rang the doorbell, knocked on the door, then returned to her vehicle leaving the child and the two bags that were there. she wore. The entire incident lasted 23 seconds.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black woman who appears to be between 25 and 30 years old, with long hair reaching size. She has several tattoos on the right arm that can be seen in the video.

The child was not injured and appeared healthy. The child protection services were called to the scene and took custody of the child until he could find his family.
