Agra: After a monkey killed a 12-day-old baby boy on Monday, a 59-year-old woman from the Kagraul area in Agra lost her blood after an attack by monkeys attacked her . She was severely bitten by the monkeys, who only left her after falling to the ground and could not move because of her injuries.

The incident occurred around 11:30 pm on Monday when Bhuran Devi went to the field to relieve himself. The victim was transported to a private clinic but died Tuesday morning during treatment. The case was brought to light Tuesday night when residents reported the case to the police.

Sanjul Pandey, head of the Kagraul Police Station, said, "The victim could have survived if the family had taken her to a larger hospital. Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was seriously injured after being bitten by the monkeys, which left her bleeding profusely. The victim did not receive appropriate medical care and died of her injuries while being treated at the private clinic. The family has not filed a written complaint about it.

Bhuran Devi's son, Vijay Singh, said, "As the attack took place late at night, we rushed her to the nearest clinic where she succumbed to her injuries.

Agra Mayor Naveen Jain said on Wednesday: "The threat to the monkeys has been increasing in the city for several years due to the negligence of the Forest Department and the district administration. Was done to control their demographic growth in the city. "

"Because of the threat of the monkeys, the inhabitants of the city have turned their houses into cages so that the animal can not enter the houses. Previously, the civic body had endeavored to control the threat, but due to the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, the implementation of anti-monkey programs did not successful. The Forestry Department and District Administration have shown no concern, "said Jain.

"We will prepare a report on the threat of monkeys in the city and this report will be tabled in front of the Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, with a request for an appropriate solution to the problem," added Jain.

When contacted, Anand Kumar, District Forest Officer (Wildlife Officer), told TOI, "With the permission of the Forest Department, the monkeys can be trapped and transferred to the Soor Bird Sanctuary.
