A mother of three from Louisiana shot her husband in the parking lot of a Walmart while their three children were watching, police said.
Kayla Coutee, 31, faces charges of second degree murder for Saturday morning shooting, according to Alexandria police.
She allegedly killed her husband, Thomas Coutee Jr., 30, after agreeing to meet him at Wal-Mart to exchange custody of their 7, 5 and 2 year old children.
Kayla threw Thomas into the chest and sat down and waited for the police to arrive, said the cops.
She was subsequently detained without incident. The children were not injured and transported safely to the headquarters of ODA. The Department of Child and Family Services was contacted shortly thereafter.
"Based on the information gathered by the investigators during their investigation, Kayla Coutee was arrested and charged with second degree murder," police said in a press release. "She was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked."
Thomas Coutee reportedly filed for Kayla's divorce, but we do not know when. A police spokesman told ABC News that their children are now being held by family members.
