A woman kills her husband in front of her daughter in the parking lot of Walmart

A woman reportedly shot and killed her husband outside Louisiana Walmart last week, police said.

Thirty-year-old Thomas Coutee Jr. was lying on the floor, was shot in the chest, and his ex-wife Kayla Coutee, 31, was nearby when the police responded on Saturday, police said. # 39; Alexandria.

The former couple shares custody of their 2-year-old daughter, who was there when the shooting occurred in the outside of the car park, the police said.

Kayla Coutee's two other children, aged 7 and 5, were also on the scene, Alexandria police spokeswoman Wade Bourgeois told ABC News.

No children were injured, the police said.

The Department of Child and Family Services was notified and the children were handed over to family members, the police said.

Kayla Coutee was arrested and charged with second degree murder. She was booked under the Giles family name although she identified herself with the police as Coutee, police said.

Thomas Coutee had filed for divorce and the two were separated at the time of filming, Bourgeois said.
