FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – An American Airlines passenger sues the airline, partially accusing flight attendants of alleged sexual assault during a flight.
The woman, Aubrey Lane, claims that a man is already drunk aboard his Phoenix-New York flight last summer.
She then testified that she sexually assaulted her in the aircraft restroom.
Lane stated that the flight attendants had served to the man a combination of four servings of vodka and two beers during the flight.
American Airlines sent CBS 11 the following statement on Thursday night:
We will thoroughly review Ms. Lane's trial once we receive it. We want all our customers to live with us a positive and safe travel experience. We are deeply troubled by any allegation of misconduct on board our aircraft or any of our facilities. If our crews discover or are aware of any alleged unlawful misconduct that may occur on the aircraft, law enforcement forces are contacted and will meet the aircraft upon arrival. In all cases of misconduct between two passengers, we will separate them immediately and ask the law enforcement authorities to meet the aircraft, which is our standard protocol. It is up to the police to determine what happened, if any, with criminal activity.
