Aaron Gordon extended his stay with Orlando Magic after accepting a new contract on Sunday.

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, the Magic and Gordon agreed on a four-year, $ 84 million agreement.

Gordon confirmed that he was to re-sign on Twitter:

Gordon was a restricted free agent this summer and eligible to sign an offer sheet with other teams, but the Magic have apparently showcased their power with a bid too tempting

Written fourth overall by the Magic in 2014, he has steadily improved his scoring performance in each of his four seasons. The 22-year-old averaged 17.6 points per game last season and posted his best career result with a 33.6% lead over three points.

Gordon was one of the few positive points of a 2017-18 year frustrating and disappointing. campaign for magic. Their 25-57 record was the fifth worst in the NBA and it scored the fifth time in the last six seasons that they lost at least 50 games.

Remember Gordon is the first step in Orlando plans his next phase under the guidance of new head coach Steve Clifford

The Magic needs a lot of re-equipment after years spent in the basement. It will not be an easy solution, but it's the first time in a long time that there seems to be a plan in place.

In addition to the return of Gordon, Evan Fournier, Bismack Biyombo, first-round pick 2017 Jonathan Isaac and 2018 first-round pick Mohamed Bamba are all promising players aged 25 and under.

Orlando still has Nikola Vucevic, 27-year-old center, in place and does not lack commercial chips if he wants to shake

If the Magic will come out of the basement and argue in the playoffs in the future near, Gordon is said to be an important part of the equation.
