Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' Return Should Never Have Happened

The NFL is back and what a wild Sunday to kick off. Let's start where it ended with Aaron Rodgers' epic performance in the second half on Sunday night.

How did Aaron Rodgers play this knee injury?

After 30 minutes of football, new Bears head coach Matt Nagy and second-year quarterback Mitch Trubisky appeared to be entering the Hall of Fame and Khalil Mack would finish the match with 17 sacks. Then we had the second half.

Aaron Rodgers limped back after knee injury with the Packers 20-0. What we saw next was remarkable. Rodgers systematically disassociated the Bears' defense, finally giving Cobb a short pass that ended with a 75-yard touchdown.

There is no quarter in the NFL that I prefer to have in this situation.

What makes Rodgers able to play well through his buttocks, his left knee, the knee on which he crashes when he throws, is the movement launched by Rodgers. It's a ton of arms and a wrist shot. It takes me every time.

Rodgers' return should never have happened.

Matt Nagy made a critical coaching mistake at the end of the last Bears record. The Bears were at 20-17 and moved pretty easily. Trubisky and the racing game on the road lead a lot of time. They hacked the packers.

Then, in the third and first place, where a first save would have basically ended the match, the Bears made a big mistake. Instead of running the ball, the Bears left for the circuit and threw it to the goal zone.

If you want to go third, run to the fourth goal to finish the game. Nope. The Bears pulled out the kicker, went up 23-17 and the rest is historic.

Khalil Mack made Jon Gruden absolutely stupid on national television.

Mack was worth every penny and every draft pick the Bears had made to buy it. He played an exceptional first half with a sack, a forced fumble and an interception returned for a touchdown.

In the second half, just like the rest of his team, he was not so visible. First, the Packers' right tackle, Bryan Bulaga, played very well, as I said. Yes, he had a bad game or two, but he missed most of last season and almost all the pre-season. In the second half, he finally settled down. The Packers started using tempo in the second half, which should be the basis of their attack. Whenever they make tempo, they score points. It slows the race and simplifies the defense. It's obvious to me.

We saw some of Trubisky's limitations last night.

Last reflection on the game of Sunday night.

At the beginning of the game, when the Bears had written the pieces, he looked awesome. The Nagy attack looked exactly like Andy Reid's at the beginning of the games … a different formation with each game, moving the QB around the pocket and using Tarik Cohen as Tyreek Hill.

Then, in the second half, everything was gone. Trubisky was allowed to play games in a different offense. But do not worry Bears fans, Trubisky is young and in a whole new system. The Bears defense is legitimate and your team is in full swing.

The defeat series of the Browns is over!

THANK YOU FOOTBALL GOD! They also do not have a series of victories. The Browns and Steelers finished 21-21. It's the best start of the season for the Browns since 2004, they are 0-0-1. My word.

That sums up the game

The Steelers were bad.

They were 21-7 and should have qualified for an easy win on the opening weekend. Then came the turnarounds. First James Conner, then several Big Ben turns – five all together, three choices and two fumbles. Then the field goals were missed, followed by other turnovers, one of which ended when the Browns were blocked. It was a glorious contest … in the rain nevertheless.

The question with the Steelers is "Did they miss the" Veon Bell? "I was saying that they did not do it. Does he fumble at the end of the game? Probably not. But otherwise Conner was fine. The Steelers' negligence is something of an emblem in their locker room. It's not always buttoned. They should have won this game easily.

And in no way does this game mean that the Browns are drastically better than last season. Not yet.

The bright spot for the Browns … Myles Garrett. Dude is a monster. End of the story. Who was not a monster? Tyrod Taylor. He had a touchdown that allowed the Browns to stay early in the game. His death, not good. He was 15 in 40 for 197 yards. Most of these completions were on go roads. It was their offense. Throw the ball. This is not an offense.

The Steelers were tough in Tyrod with the pressure to contain it also in the second half. The Browns must play Baker Mayfield. They waste their time with Tyrod. It is not the future of the franchise. Let Mayfield take her pieces, learn and grow.

I loved watching the New York Giants with what looked like a functional offense.

Eli Manning seemed solid, not sharp, in the early days of the G-Men under Pat Schumur. The drops dropped too much and Eli also knocked Odell over in the end zone. It was not the brightest day, but you can see where this offense is headed.

Saquon Barkley performed a performance similar to that of Saquon Barkley. Short races, followed by a touch of monster at home. It was exceptional. I will warn you though. Barkley must find ways to be more consistent. This may be a function of the offensive line, but you can not count on a home run at every game. Being able to hit 4, 5 and 6 yard runs through the first three quarters leads to home runs in the fourth. This is the ideal racing game.

What electric ran by Barkley.

The revamped Giants offensive line struggled during some parts of the game. They also faced the exceptional defensive line of the Jaguars. It seems that rookie Will Hernandez is having trouble handling things for the moment. I would not be too worried because it is hard as nails and a mauler. What worries me is Ereck Flowers. Even old flowers, but right to attack. He will hold back the Giants attack

Blake Bortles is a supreme game manager and that's fine.

But it will prevent the Jaguars from reaching the Super Bowl. When Fournette had a hamstring injury, the Jaguars offense was unable to function.

Pat Mahomes is ready to shoot.

Pat Mahomes … he's good. Tyreek Hill … he's fast. Last season, Mahomes was not ready to play. Not near. He had the physical talent, but was behind with everything else. When he played well in Week 17 last season, he surprised people in the building with the completeness of his game in Denver this afternoon.

Fast forward to what we saw yesterday. Under complete control. Accurate accuracy, even with a touch on the touch pass at the back of the parade. He made beautiful shots with pressure on his face and also held in the pocket much better than the pre-season.

Believe it for improvement, plus Andy Reid and the staff. They worked wonders with this kid and they're a quarterback franchise.

No excuses for the Cowboys.

Dallas Cowboys, yes. I was almost certain that Dirk Koetter would be the first coach to be fired (assets for Tampa for this big win), but Jason Garrett is about to miss the season. Yesterday was sloppy.

They looked unprepared and bland in flagrante delicto. They cut Dan Bailey only for his substitute missing a goal on the field. I've agreed to cut Dez Bryant, but they have not managed to replace him with anyone of a competent one. And their defense seemed to have no idea that Cam Newton could run.

The first feedback on Cam Newton and Norv Turner is good.

I was delighted to see that Norv Turner included Cam Newton in the running game. He has been an effective offensive coordinator with professional-style quarterbacks, so it's interesting to see if he would incorporate more racing concepts for Newton into his offensive. He did.

Cam Newton is a weapon with his legs and running the ball makes him a better quarterback. Plus, he pulls it as well as the team and the entire stadium.

The Panthers' defense was also announced, and it was even without Thomas Davis. They will be tough every week.

I never thought that the Ravens would cover the problem themselves.

Is this a sign that the Ravens are very good and the Bills are ridiculously bad? Probably somewhere in the middle. However, Ravens have talent, especially in defense. If Flacco can play like this, they have a chance to make the playoffs.

But the bills … oh my god.
