Shares of Acadia Healthcare skyrocketed on Thursday after Reuters announced that the US operator of behavioral health centers was in talks with private equity firms to sell.
Private equity firms have recently flocked to healthcare companies, consolidating the market.
KKR has signed a multi-billion dollar contract earlier this month to acquire Envision Healthcare, the largest supplier of emergency room physicians in the country.
Acadia, KKR and TPG Global did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment.
