According to a prosecutor, a serial rape suspect in Michigan had hundreds of videotapes in his home that could indicate new crimes.

A Michigan man accused of raping several women was reportedly prosecuted on Tuesday, a day after local authorities allocated funds for processing hundreds of videos found at his home.

Since his arrest in July, Gilbert Conway, 60, has been charged with a total of 77 counts of alleged kidnappings and sexual assaults by six women over the course of several years, reported WJRT.

Flint authorities reportedly found about 500 video recordings at Conway and on Monday, county commissioners released $ 20,000 to help investigators transfer them to digital format, according to the Associated Press.

Hundreds of videos found after Conway's arrest could eventually help authorities find other alleged victims, said Genesee County Attorney David Leyton at WJRT.

"Each of these hi8 tapes lasts at least eight hours," said Leyton. "By looking at some of the hi8 tapes, we think that there are new victims who have been sexually assaulted while filmed and we want to be able to watch these video tapes and hopefully identify those extra victims."

Conway pleaded not guilty, NBC News reported.

Leyton, who described the case as a "major league," told The Associated Press that his office was working with Flint Police and the FBI.

Associated Press contributed to this report.
