Comedian Katt Williams was arrested for assaulting a hired driver during a dispute over taking him with his dog from the airport of Portland, Oregon to a show in town.
Williams, who was in prison on Sunday, came to Portland to participate in Nick Cannon's "Wild & N Out" television series on Friday night.
According to Portland port police, the driver of the city car had edema and cuts in his face. Williams, 47, whose real name is Micah Williams, left in another vehicle and was arrested on Saturday.
Williams has been charged with fourth degree assault and a hearing is scheduled for Monday. He was also arrested on an out-of-court order by Georgia.
A Williams publicist, whose comedy specials were published on HBO and Netflix, did not immediately respond to messages requesting comment. A prison official and a spokesman for the prosecutor's office said that they did not know if the comedian had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf.
Last month, Williams won the Emmy Award for the guest actor in a humorous series for "Atlanta," a television show about two cousins of the Atlanta rap scene.
This arrest comes more than a year after Williams' conviction to a three-year probation sentence in Los Angeles after pleading against the photographer's theft of a celebrity photographer. Prosecutors said in April 2017 that he was also scheduled to take anger management classes.
In 2016, Williams was sentenced to five years of probation after pleading no challenge in Georgia for assault and battery related allegations that he allegedly threatened a bodyguard while an acquaintance was beating him with a baseball bat.
