WICHITA, Kan (KSNW) – Early voting began today in Sedgwick County.

Already, the county has a high participation rate on the first day compared to 2014.

Just before 2 pm the county declared that already 370 people had voted.

"To put that in perspective, the first day of advance voting in 2014, we had 370 all day," said Tabitha Lehman, Sedgwick County Election Commissioner. "We are not planning it out of the water, but we are really ahead of our 2014 position, so we are excited to see people come out and vote."

The commissioner of elections said that it was better to prepare a voting plan. This includes the request for mail on the ballot, advance voting and search of the polling place.

"Do your research.Go to the website and get your ballot sample, look for candidates there, you can even print it, mark it and keep it at a place where nobody else can not see it. "

Lehman said that you must remember to bring an ID issued by the government to the polling station to be able to vote.
