Adventurers matter: McDonald intervenes against the Broncos

ALAMEDA – Clinton McDonald signed with the Raiders on Wednesday, but did not practice until the following afternoon. A few days later, he played 52 photos.

No one on the defensive line played more, a necessary effort after the defensive tackle stained a wound wound. Justin Ellis is now on IR. Hall missed Sunday's 20-19 loss to Denver and should miss another week at least.

McDonald was eliminated by Pro Football Focus and had two tackles and two quarters of pressure against the Broncos. He was cleared to open a fast track for Phillip Lindsay's 53-yard runner.

The Raiders had to work with a new player inside, including three players with the team for less than two weeks. McDonald, Brian Price and Johnathan Hankins helped Maurice Hurst work on the defensive interior.

McDonald played a major role, despite a little precious preparation.

"We were in a difficult situation yesterday, certainly with [Brian] The price played for the first time, "said Jon Gruden. Hankins and Clinton are just showing up before the match. He did a lot of work. He not only played a lot of clichés, he played some good shots against the race and he gave us a little help. This is his story. He can play the nose or the three-man technique and that's what he did yesterday.

This rotation will take some time, although the Hankins workload is expected to increase over time. Hall will be welcomed with open arms when he will be in good health, especially as an inland passer smuggler.

Erik Harris took some defensive shots of Marcus Gilchrist and Reggie Nelson. It's clear that 2016's first-round pick, Karl Joseph, is down on the depth chart at this point, another blow for the latest draft Raider classes.

Martavis Bryant was active in his first game with the Raiders, totaling four catches for 40 yards on 26 caps. His presence helped the game as a whole, with receptions and clearance spaces for others like Amari Cooper.

"His presence there makes a difference," said Gruden.
